The Los Angeles Dodgers are facing some injury concern with Mookie Betts but they continued to dominate the Colorado Rockies on Saturday with a 9-2 win at Coors Field. Betts was a catalyst for the offense but Max Muncy hit two home runs and finished with a career-high five RBI.

Prior to being removed due to right hip irritation, Betts went 4-for-4 with three doubles and a home run. It was a third consecutive game in which he had three hits and a second straight opening things with a double to left field.

Betts then scored on Muncy’s RBI base hit, giving the Dodgers a 1-0 lead in the first inning. After the Rockies tied the game in the second, Betts put L.A. ahead with an opposite-field home run in the third inning.

The five-time All-Star continued his torrid pace with a leadoff double in the sixth that led to again scoring on a Muncy base hit.

While it wasn’t shown until after Betts exited with the hip injury, a replay of him grimacing in the dugout upon scoring suggested that was when he first felt the trouble.

AJ Pollock doubled the Dodgers’ lead with a leadoff home run in the seventh inning, and Muncy hit the first of his two in the eighth. After Justin Turner’s two-run double to center field, Muncy broke the game open in the ninth inning with his second home run of the game.

Dodgers pitching shines

Walker Buehler labored in the second inning but only allowed one run as he pitched through traffic, and another came across in the third. Buehler finished his outing by retiring the final 13 batters faced to get through seven innings.

Blake Treinen and Darien Nuñez each threw an inning out of the bullpen to wrap up the Dodgers’ eighth consecutive win against the Rockies.
