The Los Angeles Dodgers completed a sweep of the Seattle Mariners with a 7-1 victory to win back-to-back games and a series for the first time since the middle of April.

In similar fashion to the first game of the Interleague series at Dodger Stadium, the Dodgers needed a few innings to find their footing offensively before getting going. It started in the fourth when Matt Beaty broke a scoreless tie with a two-run double.

Seattle immediately cut their deficit in half in the fifth, but the Dodgers responded and blew the game open in the bottom half of the inning. Justin Turner sparked a two-out rally with a single that set the table for Max Muncy’s second home run in as many nights and fourth in the past eight games.

After Will Smith doubled and Chris Taylor walked, Beaty added to his night with an RBI base hit. Gavin Lux capped off the four-run inning with an RBI single of his own.

Again limited to a pinch-hit appearance while he continues to recover from a Grade 1 left hamstring strain, AJ Pollock blooped an RBI base hit into center field in the seventh inning for the Dodgers’ final run of the night.

Urias dominates

When Julio Uiras last faced the Mariners, he set a career high with 11 strikeouts and tossed seven scoreless innings at T-Mobile Park in April. He didn’t match that effort but was still dominant at Dodger Stadium.

The Mariners didn’t have their first baserunner until Ty France’s chopper got through the hole for a one-out single in the fourth inning. That led to a run, which was all the Mariners could scratch against Urias.

He finished with six strikeouts against one walk and scattered two hits over seven innings.

Jimmy Nelson made his first appearance since May 4 and added to what’s been an impressive string by tossing two perfect innings.
