The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Texas Rangers, 16-3, to clinch a series win and set a season high for most runs scored in a single game.
Marcus Semien opened the scoring with a leadoff home run in the bottom of the first inning, but it turned into a long afternoon for the Rangers shortly after taking a 1-0 lead.
The Dodgers came right back with a game-tying RBI double from David Peralta in the second inning, and James Outman’s single with the bases loaded put them up a run. Miguel Rojas followed that by grounding into a double play, which still brought in a run that extended L.A.’s lead to 3-1.
Freddie Freeman created more separation with a leadoff home run in the fourth inning. Two batters later, Max Muncy hit his second homer of the road trip.

The scoring continued in the fifth inning when Freeman hit his second home run of the game. J.D. Martinez then put the Dodgers into double-digits with a three-run homer.
Muncy added to his big day with an RBI double in the eighth inning that prompted the Rangers to turn to outfielder Brad Miller for his pitching debut. Martinez greeted him with a sacrifice fly and Peralta hit an RBI single before Miller could get through the inning.
Jonny DeLuca capped off the Dodgers’ scoring with a three-run home run in the ninth.
Dodgers dance celebration
With their bevy of extra-base hits on Saturday, the Dodgers continued their dancing on the bases, a celebration inspired by Freeman’s viral video from the Blue Diamond Gala when Usher was performing.
