Dodgers Highlights: Corey Seager, Joc Pederson, Max Muncy & Cody Bellinger Homer In Win Over Reds

The Los Angeles Dodgers began their eight-game road trip in impressive fashion, slugging four home runs and cruising to a 6-0 victory over the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park.

Cody Bellinger got the offense started when he doubled off Reds starter Anthony Desclafani to begin the second inning. Bellinger scored one pitch later when Corey Seager launched a two-run home run to right field, his fourth of the season.

After a rough start to the year, Seager has begun to pick it up at the plate over the past week. He is 6-for-15 (.400 batting average) with two home runs, seven RBI and four runs scored in his last four games.

Seager got the home run party started, and his fellow left-handed hitting teammates continued it in the top of the third inning. Joc Pederson led off the frame with an opposite-field shot, his 14th of the season. All 14 of his home runs have come against right-handed pitching, which is the most in baseball.

Max Muncy was next up and went back-to-back by launching a solo home run of his own to right field. Muncy now has nine home runs on the season as he looks to prove that his 2018 breakout campaign was not a fluke.

The final homer of the night for the Dodgers was a line-drive rocket off the bat of Bellinger in the top of the eighth inning. Bellinger finished 2-for-4, continuing his torrid pace to the season. May is halfway done and he is still batting .404/.481/.788 and leading baseball in several offensive categories.

As for matters on the mound, Rich Hill turned in his best start of the season. Hill had hitters off-balanced all night, allowing just two singles in six scoreless innings while striking out a season-high 10 batters without issuing a walk.

The Dodgers’ bullpen was flawless in relief of Hill to complete the shutout.
