After a successful 2017 season in which the Los Angeles Dodgers won an MLB-best 104 games and advanced to their first World Series since 1988, manager Dave Roberts was awarded the privilege of managing the National League team in the 2018 MLB All-Star Game.
Once the starters for the game are announced, Roberts will face the challenge of having to fill out his roster will players that are worthy of representing their respective teams.
Before he does that though, Roberts is filling out his coaching staff. It was previously announced that he would include Washington Nationals manager Dave Martinez on his staff.
It has become a bit of a tradition for the manager of the team hosting the game to be involved. It appears Roberts has now filled out the rest of his staff, with his fellow Dodgers coaches joining him as well as Colorado Rockies manager Bud Black, per David Vassegh of AM 570 L.A. Sports Radio:
Dave Roberts is taking his entire coaching staff with him for All-Star Game. Dave Martinez and Bud Black will also be on his staff.

Roberts and Black are extremely close friends, dating back to their days with the San Diego Padres when Black was the manager and Roberts worked under him as bench coach.
This year’s Midsummer Classic takes place at Nationals Park in Washington D.C. on Tuesday, July 17. Roberts is set to become the first Dodgers skipper to manage the NL team in an All-Star Game since Tommy Lasorda did so in 1989.
The Dodgers coaches that will be joining Roberts likely includes bench coach Bob Geren, pitching coach Rick Honeycutt, hitting coach Turner Ward, bullpen coach Mark Prior, first base coach George Lombard and third base coach Chris Woodward, among others.
