Freddie Freeman has a tradition of allowing his son Charlie to pick walk-up songs, and last season he made waves with having his father use “Tití Me Preguntó” by Bad Bunny.

The smash hit had taken the world by storm and further endeared Freeman with Los Angeles Dodgers fans, a large portion of which are Hispanic.

Now heading into his third season with Dodgers, Freeman is poised to use a new Bad Bunny song while also keeping “Baila Conmigo” by Dayvi and Victor Cardenas in the mix as well.

“Charlie has picked ‘Monaco’ by Bad Bunny. When he starts with, ‘Dime.’ We’re going to go with that, but we’re going to keep ‘Baila Conmigo’ as well,” Freeman said during 2024 DodgerFest at Dodger Stadium.

“So that will be No. 1, and then ‘Monaco’ and we’ll just switch back and forth. Yup, Charlie still loves Bad Bunny.”

“Monaco” has not achieved the same success and notoriety as “Tití Me Preguntó,” nor has Bad Bunny’s latest album, “Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana,” when compared to “Un Verano Sin Ti.”

Nevertheless, “Monaco” is quite popular with Miguel Rojas, who has regularly used the song for Instagram posts.

As for matters on the field, Freeman is coming off an MVP-caliber season but he and the Dodgers fell well short in the postseason. Freeman is confident in the Dodgers’ World Series odds for 2024 and excited to play alongside Shohei Ohtani, Tyler Glasnow and Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

When previously discussing Charlie’s music choices, Freeman explained it stems from having developed a close relationship with Ronald Acuña Jr. and other Latin players.

During the 2021 season, Charlie picked “Ni Bien Ni Mal” (“Neither Good Nor Bad”), also by Bad Bunny, as a walk-up song for Freeman.

Bad Bunny (born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio in Puerto Rico) is one of the globe’s biggest musicians and is poised to perform live again throughout 2023 after just wrapping up a record-setting world tour.
