The Los Angeles Dodgers closed out their 2018 Spring Training schedule Tuesday night, albeit in odd fashion, and can now officially shift their focus to Opening Day.

The start of the regular season brings about a palpable buzz, particularly this year as the Dodgers are facing the San Francisco Giants in the opener of a four-game series at Dodger Stadium. Beyond play on the field, there’s also work being done by chef Ryan Evans and his culinary team to provide a memorable and pleasant dining experience at Chavez Ravine.

On the menu this season are fan favorites from 2016, Cheet-O-Lote and Chicken ‘N Waffle Sammy, plus new items such as tortas and a churro ice cream dessert.

Evans and the Dodgers put an emphasis on ensuring fans have access to a variety of foods, regardless of their seat location, and most speciality items will be centralized at L.A. On-deck Circle stands.

Over recent days, Evans teased some items that were available beginning during the exhibition Freeway Series and others that will be on the menu come Opening Day.

Evans is embarking his 10th season as an MLB chef, third with the Dodgers, and second as the team’s executive chef. A full offseason of being in his current role allowed for better preparation.

“A little more comfortable in my shoes, I guess you could say. And we really had a solid offseason of planning,” he told DodgerBlue.com when asked to compare his feeling this season to heading into 2017.

“Last year, I officially became the executive chef in March. Where this year, I had a whole offseason to really develop what we, as a culinary team, want to really represent. We feel it’s going to be an epic year for the Dodgers, and we want to showcase that through what we can do with food.”
