Through their foundation, Kershaw’s Challenge, Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw and his wife Ellen are hosting the sixth annual Ping Pong 4 Purpose charity event at Dodger Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 23.
“We are thrilled to be hosting our sixth annual Ping Pong 4 Purpose on August 23rd. The event has become an iconic part of Kershaw’s Challenge and we are so thankful for the tremendous support of the LA community and our generous sponsors,” Ellen and Clayton said.
“This event is so much fun to be part of, and it plays a significant role is supporting our amazing beneficiaries. It is a great night with an even greater cause: making life better for children living in LA and the Dominican Republic. We can’t wait for the fun and impact of August 23rd—join us!”
Emmy Award winner Bryan Cranston and Robin Dearden are honorary hosts, with Cranston also serving as emcee. The night will see Camila and Matthew McConaughey receive the second annual Kershaw’s Challenge Impact Award for work the couple completes through their Just Keep Livin Foundation.
The foundation’s efforts are dedicated to empowering high school students with the tools to lead active lives and make healthy choices for a better future, implementing after school fitness and wellness programs across the country.
Lakers president of basketball operations and Dodgers co-owner Magic Johnson was presented with the Impact Award last year in recognition of charitable efforts completed through the Magic Johnson Foundation.
In addition to the always-entertaining ping pong matchups, the event will include a special performance by The Pine Mountain Logs band.
Tickets and VIP packages are available now, with proceeds supporting Kershaw’s Challenge beneficiaries: the Dream Center, Just Keep Livin Foundation’s initiatives in Los Angeles, and International Justice Mission’s initiatives in the Dominican Republic.
