The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation announced details of its fifth anniversary Blue Diamond Gala at Dodger Stadium, which is officially set for Wednesday, June 12. The evening will begin with a star-studded blue carpet and dinner party, followed by a concert from Grammy Award winner Bruno Mars.
Last year, John Legend performed at the annual Blue Diamond Gala, following in the footsteps of Maroon 5 and Earth, Wind & Fire who both took the stage in 2017. Members of the Dodgers ownership group, Billie Jean King and Ilana Kloss, will be honored at this year’s event.
Proceeds from the Blue Diamond Gala will directly impact LADF’s Dodgers RBI, and Dodgers Dreamfields programs. The Foundation completed a 15-year promise by opening a 50th Dreamfield last September, and now has a goal of reaching 75 fields by 2033 to commemorate the number of years the team will have been in the City of Los Angeles.
Past Blue Diamond galas have contributed to strengthened infrastructure, growth in programs, and increased fundraising for the LADF.
Since inception, the Dodgers Foundation has invested over $25 million into the Los Angeles community in the form of direct programs and grant making to local organizations, impacting millions of children.
“We are so proud to be marking the fifth anniversary of our Blue Diamond Gala, an event that has continued to flourish each year, and raise funds for the instrumental work that the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation is doing in our communities,” Dodgers owner and chairman of the LADF board Mark Walter said.
“We knew we had to bring in an absolute superstar to celebrate this occasion, and having Bruno Mars headlining the gala is above and beyond what we could have hoped for. We know this will be our most memorable event yet.”
Mars recently swept the 60th Annual Grammy Awards, taking home seven awards including Album of the Year (24K Magic), Record of the Year (“24K Magic”), Song of the Year (“That’s What I Like”), Best R&B Performance (“That’s What I Like”), Best R&B Song (“That’s What I Like”), Best R&B Album (24K Magic), and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical (24K Magic).
