The eighth annual Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Blue Diamond Gala at Dodger Stadium is being held Thursday, with all players, coaching staff, front office and ownership group among those expected to be in attendance.
Ed Sheeran was previously announced as the headline performer for the 2024 Blue Diamond Gala, and SportsNet LA reporter Kirsten Watson has since been named the host of the signature event. DJ Pee .Wee (Anderson .Paak) is going to DJ the reception party after the blue carpet closes.
“As we look forward, the gala underscores our unwavering commitment to serving Los Angeles, ensuring that as long as there is need, our ownership group will be here to support,” Dodgers controlling owner Mark Walter said in a statement.
“We welcome Ed Sheeran to a family of past Blue Diamond Gala performers whose artistry has helped raise vital funds to support Angelenos.”
Proceeds from the event benefit the LADF and their programs and initiatives aimed at improving education, health care, homelessness and social justice for all Angelenos.
“We’re honored to host the biggest night in the city as we recognize the success and contributions of our partners, community leaders, and everyday champions,” Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation CEO Nichol Whiteman said.
“Thanks to our allies and supporters, LADF accelerates community investment, creates collective power to address key issues, and builds infrastructure for sustained capacity as we support extraordinary organizations leading transformative change throughout the region.”
Since inception, LADF has invested more than $60 million into the Los Angeles community by way of direct programs and grants to nonprofits. Those contributions have helped provide access to opportunities for growth and basic necessities for marginalized populations and vulnerable neighborhoods.
