As the wait for a potential 2020 Major League Baseball season continues, the Los Angeles Dodgers have helped fans stay connected to players and broadcasters by hosting a weekly Zoom party.

The fifth edition, which will exclusively be in Spanish, is set for Thursday, May 21, at 6 p.m. PT. Among the participants already announced include Fernando Valenzuela, Spanish-language broadcaster Jaime Jarrín, and current players Julio Urias, Kiké Hernandez, Edwin Rios and Brusdar Graterol.

Serving as hosts of this week’s get-together are Jarrín’s son, Jorge, and Alanna Rizzo. Former Dodger Adrian Gonzalez, who has previously appeared on a Dodgers Zoom party, is also set to participate in the Spanish-language event.

The most recent Dodgers Zoom party took place at the beginning of the week, which featured the likes of Cody Bellinger, Clayton Kershaw and David Price, among others.

Price delved into why he initially chose to wear No. 18 with the Dodgers before deciding on No. 33. The group of players present in the virtual chat additionally revealed how many reps they would need in a potentially extended Spring Training before the regular season begins.

The finale of ESPN’s “The Last Dance” docuseries was also a topic among the participants. Most picked Michael Jordan over LeBron James as the greatest player in NBA history, although Kershaw opined choosing between the two is impossible.

As for Thursday’s Spanish Zoom party, there will be many players and broadcasters making their debut. One of them is Jarrín, who offered a helping hand to the community by donating at least $30,000 to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank through the Jaime & Blanca Jarrín Foundation to help aid in coronavirus (COVID-19) relief efforts.

Fans that would like to watch must RSVP ahead of time, and they can do so on the Dodgers’ official website.
