Justin and Kourtney Turner assisted the Los Angeles Dream Center with their daily distribution of food and supplies to families in need. The local nonprofit is nearing 50 consecutive days of 11-hour service in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

They spurned into action when the LA Unified School District elected to have students switch to home learning. It put families who were already facing hardship into more uncertainty as meals provided by schools were limited.

The Turners quietly began coordinating with small businesses to purchase food that is delivered to The Dream Center on a daily basis and provided to those in need during separate breakfast, lunch and dinner hours.

Clayton and Ellen Kershaw, Max and Kellie Muncy, Ross and Shelby Stripling, Chris Taylor, and Corey Seager and his fiancée are also among those from the Los Angeles Dodgers who have supported The Dream Center.

“Justin Turner, Clayton Kershaw and all the Dodgers really, from Day 1 they stepped in and said, ‘We’ve got to make something happen. We know the kids are going to be in need,'” Dream Center founder Matthew Barnett recently told DodgerBlue.com.

“So Justin, Clayton and the whole team started employing companies, keeping jobs and at the same time feeding thousands of people. It’s like a double victory. My heart is so overwhelmed with so much disbelief that all this is happening.

Justin and Kourtney have worked with The Dream Center for several years, partnering on multiple events and initiatives. Included in that is an annual Justin Turner Golf Classic, and last year the Justin Turner Foundation held its first ever Winter Wonderland for patients at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

In addition to their work with The Dream Center, the Turners are paying their respect to those on the frontline in the battle against the coronavirus by gifting them with new pairs of Adidas shoes.
