Beats by Dr. Dre (Beats) announced Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani as an official brand ambassador

Beats by Dr. Dre (Beats) announced Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star Shohei Ohtani as their new brand ambassador. The sponsorship deal calls for Ohtani to appear in Beats marketing campaigns that spotlight the brand’s dynamic lineup of products.

“As a Beats ambassador, I am truly honored to work with such incredible athletes such as Lebron James and Lionel Messi,” Ohtani said in a statement. “I am excited at the new opportunities this partnership will bring.”

Ohtani has already starred in one commercial for Beats by Dre, highlighting their upcoming Powerbeats Pro 2 that is due to release in 2025.

Beats released the original Powerbeats Pro headphones in 2019, but they are yet to undergo an update or refresh since then. At the time the Powerbeats Pro were heralded for having an Apple H1 chip and secure fit that appealed to sports- and active-minded consumers.

As such, the new Beats commercial with Ohtani features the Dodgers All-Stars wearing the Powerbeats Pro 2 while taking swings.

Beats by Dre was founded by Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine in 2006. The brand strives to create premium consumer headphones, earphones and speakers, and has assembled a roster of widely-respected ambassadors and collaborations.

Beats was acquired by Apple Inc. in July 2014.

For Ohtani, it’s a second partnership to recently get announced as he also signed an exclusive deal with Topps.

Beats headphones: Shohei Ohtani & Kim Kardashian

Along with signing Ohtani as a brand ambassador, Beats has been in the headlines recently due to a second collaboration with Kim Kardashian for Beats Studio Pro.

The newest “Beats x Kim” is an expression of creativity and identity wrapped around premium sound. The collaboration reimagines Beats’ studio headphones in three neutral colors inspired by Kardashian’s signature palette: Moon (light), Dune (medium) and Earth (deep).

“I’m so excited we’re bringing these three popular, chic colors to Beats’ most iconic and advanced headphones,” said Kardashian. “Beats Studio have always been a fashion statement, so I can’t wait to see how everyone styles them.”

Kardashian first partnered with Beats in 2022 on a special-edition Beats Fit Pro, which became the brand’s best-selling collaboration.
