The Los Angeles Dodgers are in the midst of another excellent season despite having to navigate multiple key injuries and inconsistent performances throughout the year.

After enduring their worst month in July, the Dodgers have posted a 20-10 record over their last 30 games to expand their lead in the National League West standings.

The team has gone an impressive 12-5 since Aug. 18, which includes series wins over the Seattle Mariners, Tampa Bay Rays, Baltimore Orioles and Arizona Diamondbacks.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts credited his team for keeping a positive mindset and never letting adversity get the best of them, via Jack Harris of the L.A. Times:

“I think it’s character,” Roberts said of his club’s recent 17-6 run, which has stymied the once-surging Diamondbacks and Padres in the standings.

“I know character is not tangible, but I believe in it — there are some things that are out of our control that we’ve managed and we’ve overcome. We’ve still got a lot of baseball left. I said a couple weeks ago — I’m in playoff mode and I know our guys are too. It’s just going to be a long playoff season for us. But that’s a good thing.”

Roberts previously said that the past week would be a test for the Dodgers, who entered a tough part of their schedule at a crucial time in the season.

The club passed with flying colors as they took five of seven from two postseason contenders in the Orioles and Diamondbacks.

The Dodgers will now look to keep it going as they finish out their regular season schedule. They remain strong favorites to win the division with a four-game lead in the NL West.

Evan Phillips believes ‘adversity’ can be beneficial for Dodgers

While the Dodgers are in the driver’s seat to win their 11th division title in the last 12 seasons, it hasn’t been an easy road by any means.

Evan Phillips echoed a similar message and believes the adversity that the team has faced this year will benefit them in the long run.
