The Los Angeles Dodgers had a disappointing effort on Friday night and now look to avoid a series loss against the Houston Astros.

Freddie Freeman remains away from the team in order to be with family while one of his sons, Maximus, deals with an illness. Freeman is expected to miss the entire Astros series but could potentially rejoin the team next week in San Diego.

Hunter Feduccia was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City to take Freeman’s spot on the active roster. Feduccia is not in the lineup but if he makes it into any game, that will mark his MLB debut.

Meanwhile, Gavin Lux is moved up in the Dodgers lineup to hit third, where Freeman normally does. It’s the first time Lux is batting third in the order but he’s previously hit higher for 10 games (six starts) in the leadoff spot and 12 games (eight starts) second in the lineup.

Lux is batting .287/.340/.483 with four home runs and 12 RBI in his last 30 games. Lux has fared even better over his last seven games, producing a 1.050 on-base plus slugging percentage.

He was named National League Player of the Week coming out of the All-Star break.

Lux and the Dodgers look to provide run support for Justin Wrobleski in his fourth career start. The Dodgers rookie is 0-1 with a 4.40 ERA and 1.33 WHIP thus far.

Wrobleski is coming off an outing in which he threw 4.1 scoreless innings against the Boston Red Sox.

The Astros counter with Ronel Blanco, who is 9-5 with a 2.75 ERA and 0.99 WHIP in 19 starts this season. Blanco has struggled with the home run ball as he’s given up at least one in eight of his last 10 starts.
