The Los Angeles Dodgers begin their road trip with a matchup against the Houston Astros in a game that’s being exclusively streamed on Apple TV+ as part of their weekly “Friday Night Baseball” programming.
SportsNet LA analyst Dontrelle Willis is joining play-by-play man Wayne Randazzo on the call, and Heidi Watney is the in-game reporter.
It’s a third time this season the Dodgers are being featured on the streaming service. The Dodgers previously were on Apple TV+ for games against the St. Louis Cardinals (March 29) and New York Yankees (June 7).
However, their matchup with the Yankees was also available on SportsNet LA and the YES Network as MLB tested allowing regional sports channels to carry the game alongside the Apple TV+ stream for the first time.
MLB games streaming on Apple TV+ began at the start of the 2022 season.
“Friday Night Baseball” streams incorporate drone cameras for aerial stadium shots, as well as players mic’d up and field-level microphones to further immerse fans in the gameplay and overall atmosphere.
