The Los Angeles Dodgers snapped their two-game losing streak with a 6-2 win against the Washington Nationals, led by Mookie Betts tying a career high with five hits and Andy Pages helping provided a needed spark.
Betts’ big night began with a leadoff single in the bottom of the first inning and the Dodgers went on to load the bases with no outs. Patrick Corbin managed to minimize the damage by inducing Teoscar Hernández into a double play that scored one run.
In the second inning, Pages needed to see all of one pitch to collect the first hit of his young career. Pages finished the night 1-for-4 with one run scored and two strikeouts in his MLB debut.
Pages scored his run on Austin Barnes’ single in the second inning, which was certainly needed production from the bottom of the Dodgers lineup.
First game, first pitch, first hit. Congrats to Andy Pages!

Betts added onto the Dodgers’ lead with an RBI double in the second inning. Kiké Hernández added a solo home run in the fifth inning, Teoscar Hernández broke the game open with an RBI infield single in the seventh and Betts drove in Miguel Rojas by poking a base hit into right field in the eighth.
Kiké Hernández’s home run traveled 431 feet, which tied him with Teoscar Hernández for longest by a Dodgers player this season.
Kyle Hurt navigated his way through two scoreless innings as an opener in his first career start and fourth overall game with the Dodgers. Ryan Yarbrough followed with five scoreless innings, and Joe Kelly and Daniel Hudson finished off the game with a scoreless frame each.
Mookie Betts joins rare group
Betts has three five-hit games in his career and the first among all players so far in the 2024 season.
Betts also joined César Izturis as Dodgers middle infielders to go 5-for-5 with multiple RBI in one game since 1920.
