April 13 is widely recognized throughout sports as Mamba Day in honor of Kobe Bryant playing the final game of his career with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Bryant went out in remarkable fashion by scoring 60 points to lead the Lakers to a thrilling win. The performance captivated the city and serves among the many lasting Kobe memories since his tragic passing in 2021.

Nike celebrated Mamba Day with the release of three shoes from Bryant’s signature line, and his wife Vanessa Bryant, gifted pairs of the Nike Kobe 6 Dodgers PE to manager Dave Roberts, Mookie Betts, Bobby Miller, Gavin Lux, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Jason Heyward and more.

“Oh my,” Miller said as he was handed his pair. “These are fire. I’ve been wanting these. Thank you very much.”

The Nike Kobe 6 Dodgers exclusive was first seen on Natalia Bryant, when the family was in attendance last season for Lakers Night at Dodger Stadium. Natalia threw out the first pitch to Betts while Vanessa watched from the field with her youngest daughters, Bianka and Capri.

Betts catching the first pitch from Natalia was fitting as he formed a friendship with Kobe and leaned on his advice when returning to Fenway Park for the first time since being traded to the Dodgers.

Kobe Bryant held the honor of throwing out the first pitch at Dodger Stadium in the summer of 2000 after winning the first of five championships with the Lakers.

Nike Kobe 6 Dodgers PE release date?

Although Nike has plans to sell several pairs from Bryant’s signature line, the Kobe 6 “Dodgers” PE does not have a release date at this time.

In February, Vanessa shared a detailed look at the Dodgers-inspired pair of Kobe’s. The predominantly blue sneaker features white and red accents, and baseball-like stitching across the top of the tongue.
