FOCO released two new Shohei Ohtani bobbleheads to commemorate his signing a record contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
One of the Ohtani bobbleheads is a version that stands 8 inches tall. The “Next Stop” design features the two-way star in a home Dodgers uniform and batting pose. Behind Ohtani is a palm tree and welcome sign pointing him in the direction of Dodger Stadium.
The front of the base features the trademark “LA” logo and Ohtani’s full name. The “Welcome to Los Angeles” Ohtani bobblehead is individually numbered out of 1,024 units and will not be restocked once quantities sell out.
The larger Ohtani bobblehead stands 18 inches tall and highlights his two-way talent.
The second Ohtani bobblehead also has him dressed in the white Dodgers uniform, but holding a bat and glove. He’s set atop a thematic base that resembles a stadium ticket. The Dodgers’ team logo is on top of the base and across the front.
Ohtani’s deal is not yet finalized but once made official, it will break the record for richest contract in professional sports history. That previously belonged to Lionel Messi, who signed a $674 million contract with FC Barcelona in 2017.
Prior to Ohtani’s contract with the Dodgers, the largest deal in MLB history belonged to Mike Trout and his 12-year, $426.5 million contract extension signed with the Los Angeles Angels in March 2019.
Shohei Ohtani Dodgers jersey
Ohtani apparel and memorabilia historically has ranked among the best sellers, and that’s expected to remain the case now that he’s joined the Dodgers.
However, the wait continues for an Ohtani Dodgers jersey to go on sale. That won’t be available until Ohtani’s signing is made official and it’s determined if he is keeping No. 17 with the Dodgers.
It previously was worn by Joe Kelly, who is returning for 2024 but expressed a willingness to allow Ohtani to take the jersey number.
