With the Los Angeles Dodgers having their season end much sooner than anticipated, players have begun heading home or participating in other interests, including Mookie Betts connecting with other passions of his.
Betts is known for his multi-sport ability, showing a skill for bowling, trying his hand at golf, and especially having a love for the game of basketball. Betts enjoys the company of premiere players in Major League Baseball, but undoubtedly appreciates Los Angeles Lakers marquee talent in LeBron James.
With the Lakers’ home opener at Crypto.com Arena against the Phoenix Suns, Betts was spotted in attendance on Thursday night.

The Lakers would go on to win Thursday’s game, taking down the Suns 100-95, avenging their season opener when they fell to the Denver Nuggets. James took control in the fourth quarter, icing the game with two terrific finishes at the rim to give the Lakers a two-possession lead with little time remaining.
A sold-out crowd, Betts included, looked on for another classic performance by James, Anthony Davis, and the Lakers roster.
During the Dodgers’ regular season, it was Betts who treated James to a marquee showing at Dodger Stadium in late August.
Mookie Betts had star performance on LeBron James bobblehead night
In the second game of the Dodgers’ doubleheader against the Miami Marlins on August 19, Betts was in the midst of his surge for a bid at the National League MVP Award.
On LeBron James bobblehead night, Betts tallied a solo home run in the third inning, followed by a two-run shot in the fifth. After he touched home following each homer, Betts saluted James, who in return cheered and tipped his cap.
