Los Angeles Dodgers Minor Leaguer Mike Montgomery was named the Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Week for July 24-30.

Montgomery, who is currently with Triple-A Oklahoma City, allowed just two hits over five scoreless innings with four strikeouts against one walk in a win against the Reno Aces on July 27.

The Mission Hills, California native signed a Minor League contract with the Dodgers this past June and has appeared in nine games for OKC, going 2-1 with a 2.86 ERA and 1.47 WHIP across 34.2 innings pitched (seven starts).

Montgomery was originally selected by the Kansas City Royals in the first round of the 2008 MLB Draft and has pitched in parts of six big league seasons with the Seattle Mariners, Chicago Cubs and Royals.

The 34-year-old is most known for his time with the Cubs, where he spent parts of four seasons and recorded the final out of the 2016 World Series.

Montgomery owns a 3.84 ERA, 4.34 FIP and 1.35 WHIP with 415 strikeouts against 204 walks in 541 innings at the Major League level. He has experience as both a starter and a reliever, making 70 starts and appearing in 183 games.
