The Los Angeles Dodgers announced the 2019 coaching staff for their rookie-level affiliate Ogden Raptors, led by manager Austin Chubb.
On Chubb’s staff for the year is pitching coach Dean Stiles, hitting coach Seth Conner and coach Cordell Hipolito.
Despite being just 29 years of age, Chubb is entering his fourth season as a coach in the Dodgers organization. He spent the last two seasons as a manager for the Dodgers’ club in the Dominican Summer League, becoming the first American manager in the league.
Chubb is very familiar with Ogden, as he previously served as a hitting coach for them.
Stiles enters his second year with Ogden as the pitching coach. Prior to that, Stiles was an assistant coach at San Jose State, a pitching coach at Florida International University and a volunteer assistant coach in charge of pitching at the University of Oregon. He also served as the bullpen coach for the Eugene Emeralds, a Class-A affiliate for the Chicago Cubs.
Conner is also his second year coaching with the Dodgers. He played five minor league seasons in the Blue Jays organization, but the 25-year-old has now shifted his focus to coaching.
Hipolito is in his first year with the Dodgers organization but is no stranger to coaching. He has previously coached at San Diego City College, Southwestern Community College and UC San Diego.
