The Los Angeles Dodgers were no-hit for three innings but wound up stringing together a rally and later broke the game open for a 9-1 win that completed a series sweep of the San Francisco Giants.
Alex Wood’s trouble began when Mookie Betts led off the fourth inning with a single, giving the Dodgers their first hit of the game. After a Freddie Freeman walk, Trea Turner’s blooper to shallow left field dropped for an RBI base hit.
Will Smith then provided the Dodgers with a lead on his RBI single. They never looked back from there and built on the lead behind Betts’ solo home run in the bottom of the sixth inning.
The seventh saw the Dodgers pull away as an error with the bases loaded allowed a run to score, and Betts’ sacrifice fly drove in another.

Freeman introduced himself to the Dodgers-Giants rivalry with a two-run triple that electrified Dodger Stadium and inspired more “Freddie” chants.
The Dodgers’ final bit of scoring came courtesy a Max Muncy two-run home run in the eighth inning. Muncy singled in his prior at-bat, which ended an 0-for-15 drought.
Tony Gonsolin held the Giants to just one run over five innings, and the Dodgers’ bullpen again turned in scoreless work.
Hanser Alberto leading Dodgers celebrations
As the Dodgers were pushing runs across, Hanser Alberto celebrated enthusiastically from the dugout. His exuberance has been welcomed by teammates and manager Dave Roberts.
“I think it makes his day,” Betts said of Alberto enjoying celebrating. “So it makes all of ours.”
