The Los Angeles Dodgers were represented in the 2021 Fall Stars Game by prospects Landon Knack, Bobby Miller and James Outman, each of whom had an encouraging showing despite being on a West team that fell 6-5 to the East.
Although Miller has struggled through much of his time in the Arizona Fall League, the right-hander worked a perfect inning out of the bullpen in the third. Miller faced top-100 prospects JJ Bleday (Miami Marlins), Gabriel Moreno (Toronto Blue Jays) and Triston Casas (Boston Red Sox), cranking his fastball up to 99 mph in the process.
Miller was the lone pitcher to retire Bleday, the No. 77 overall prospect who went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI to earn Fall Stars Game MVP honors.
Miller also induced some swing and miss on a slider and improving changeup. He’s using time in the Arizona Fall League to continue refining his curveball.
Knack followed Miller out of the bullpen and retired the first two batters faced before surrendering a home run to Hunter Bishop (San Francisco Giants). Knack finished with one strikeout in his lone inning of work.
Fourth-ranked @Dodgers prospect Bobby Miller faces a trio of Top 100 talent in JJ Bleday, Gabriel Moreno and Triston Casas and comes away with a perfect frame.

Outman started in center field and hit fifth in the West lineup, but went 0-for-2 with a pair of strikeouts. However, he did turn in a defensive highlight by making a diving catch to help Miller get through a clean third inning.
Although Outman went hitless in the 15th annual Fall Stars Game, he’s produced a 1.017 on-base plus slugging percentage behind seven doubles, a triple and three home runs in AFL play thus far.
Dodgers prospects may contribute in 2022
President of baseball operations Andrew Friedman is focused on addressing the starting rotation this offseason, but he acknowledged the likes of Miller, Andre Jackson and Ryan Pepiot, among others, could end up playing a pivotal role for the team next season.
