Update (Aug. 19, 7:20 a.m. PT): The Los Angeles Dodgers City Connect jersey was officially unveiled and is available for purchase on Nike’s website and app, among other retailers.
The design features blue pants as well, plus a cap with “Los Dodgers,” just like across the chest.
The Los Angeles Dodgers were among the seven MLB teams selected for a Nike City Connect jersey this season, though their design has yet to be officially unveiled. However, an apparent leak of the purported Dodgers City Connect uniform surfaced Sunday night in an advertisement for Nike.
Clicking on the link directed to Nike’s website, but the jersey was not among the products listed. L.A.’s look — which is expected to be made public this week — is a blue top with “Los Dodgers” across the chest and black trim on the sleeves. The left sleeve also includes the team’s “LA” logo in white.
The Boston Red Sox were the first to debut an alternate uniform from Nike on April 17, and they have since been followed by the Miami Marlins (May 21), Chicago White Sox (June 5), Chicago Cubs (June 12), Arizona Diamondbacks (June 18) and San Francisco Giants (July 9)
The Dodgers played the Diamondbacks when their “Serpientes” design was worn for the first time — and again in late July. The Dodgers also saw the Giants in their Golden Gate Bridge look last month for a game at Oracle Park.

Fan reaction to each Nike City Connect uniform has been mixed. The White Sox ensemble arguably was the most well-received, followed by the Cubs’ relatively modest design compared to fellow alternate looks. The Giants garnered plenty of criticism for gradient look.
“Nike is uniquely suited for our relationship with MLB because we like pushing the edges of creativity across the board, but it’s always done out of a place of supporting the players and advancing the sport,” Nike vice president of North American League partnerships Sonja Henning said in a statement when plans for the City Connect series were announced.
“We take that same attentive energy in hearing insight from athletes and apply that to visualizing new and familiar relationships between clubs, cities and fans.”
Justin Turner called for blue Dodgers alternate jersey
Earlier this year Justin Turner advocated for the Dodgers to incorporate their blue Spring Training top as a road alternate jersey for the regular season.
His proposal was met by support from the fanbase, but that reaction has not carried over to the Dodgers’ City Connect jersey.
