ESPN is providing comprehensive coverage of the All-Star festivities in Denver, Colorado, which began Sunday when it nationally televised the first round of the 2021 MLB Draft. This year’s draft marks the first time it is being held during All-Star week.
Karl Ravech is anchoring coverage alongside MLB insider Kiley McDaniel, while analysts Eduardo Perez, Kyle Peterson and Chris Burke are offering insight as well.
Then on Monday, June 12 at 5 p.m. PT, ESPN will nationally televise the T-Mobile Home Run Derby. Ravech again will be on the call with Perez, as well as reporters Buster Olney and Marly Rivera.
What’s more, ESPN2 will offer a Statcast-driven broadcast of the Home Run Derby that includes unique graphics of real-time data such as exit velocity, launch angle and distance on every batted ball. Commentary will be provided by Jason Benetti, Jessica Mendoza and Mike Petriello.
ESPN Deportes additionally will provide a Spanish language broadcast of the Home Run Derby with Luis Alfredo Alvarez and Orlando ‘El Duque’ Hernandez. Guillermo Celis and Enrique Rojas also will be reporting throughout the event.
At the conclusion of the Home Run Derby, ESPN will televise the annual MLB All-Star Celebrity Softball Game at 7 p.m. PT. Among the participants in this year’s event include Steve Aoki, Kane Brown, Jennie Finch, Karamo, The Miz, Quavo, CC Sabathia, JoJo Siwa and Larry Walker. Tim Kurkjian and his son, Jeff, will call the game.
Finally on Tuesday, July 13, ESPN Radio will carry the 2021 All-Star Game at 5 p.m. PT. Jon “Boog” Sciambi and analyst Chris Singleton will call the action. The Midsummer Classic can be watched on television on Fox.
Home Run Derby bracket
MLB home run leader Shohei Ohtani earned the No. 1 seed in the Home Run Derby and will face Juan Soto in the first round. Joey Gallo, who claimed the No. 2 seed, will go up against Trevor Story.
Matt Olson (No. 3) is pitted against Trey Mancini (No. 6), and the final matchup is a battle between Salvador (No. 4) and reigning Home Run Derby champion Pete Alonso (No. 5).
