The Los Angeles Dodgers received home runs from Justin Turner, DJ Peters and Max Muncy to help alleviate some pressure in a bullpen game and lead the team to a 4-3 win over Alex Wood and the San Francisco Giants.
Each of the long balls was notable on an individual level, with Turner hitting his second in the past three games. Turner’s home run during the Houston Astros series was his first since May 4, and after the win expressed confidence his mechanics were in a good place.
Turner’s blast gave the Dodgers a 2-0 lead over the Giants in the third, but it was cut in half the next inning. Peters then provided some breathing room with a solo shot off Wood in the fifth for his first career home run.
“To get it here at Dodger Stadium was surreal,” said Peters, a Glendora, California native and lifelong Dodger fan. “And to get it against the team in orange and black was that much better.”

Donovan Solano’s two-run home run off Victor Gonzalez tied the game in the sixth inning, but the Dodgers immediately responded. The final blast of the night came from Muncy, who has been on a tear during May. Muncy’s eighth home run in the month are most in the National League this season.
“I feel good,” he said. “The adjustments we were trying to make in the beginning part of the year are finally taking hold. I feel pretty locked in.”
Price delivers for Dodgers
The Dodgers have relied on multiple bullpen games since Dustin May was lost for the year due to Tommy John surgery. Thursday was Price’s second start of the season, and he helped the team get off on the right foot by retiring all eight batters faced.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts explained he removed Price at that point — and just 35 pitches — in order to ensure he is available come Sunday.
