The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) launched a sweepstakes that is giving one lucky fan an opportunity to win an authentic 2020 World Series ring that will be personalized by Jostens. Fans will receive one entry for every $10 donation made online at dodgers.com/win.
The sweepstakes concludes Friday, May 21, and the winner will be notified shortly thereafter. The winner will receive a personalized 2020 Dodgers World Series ring nearly identical to those presented to players.
The Dodgers World Series ring features approximately 222 round diamonds, 10 princess-cut diamonds, 45 custom-cut genuine sapphires and eight round genuine sapphires.
“We are thrilled that Dodger fans will have a chance to win an official World Series ring that mirrors the style of the one gifted to our players,” Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation CEO Nichol Whiteman said in a statement.
“Offering an unforgettable and priceless piece of history, the sweepstakes also supports our vision to ensure that every Angeleno has the opportunity to thrive.”
Net proceeds will directly benefit the LADF’s continued focus on improving education, homelessness, health care and social justice in local communities. The Dodgers’ official foundation operates and funds programs that even the playing field and invests in on-the-ground solutions driven by the communities it serves.
Since inception, LADF has invested $32 million into local communities. Over the past year the foundation worked with Dodgers team partners, corporate sponsors, volunteers and nonprofits to provide 3.8 million meals and $2.2 million in donations of food, water, hygiene necessities, gift cards and memorabilia to vulnerable populations who are experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, lack of basic needs and significant anxiety.
The foundation also remains committed to creating safe and suitable spaces for youth to participate in sports, and just last week along with Kershaw’s Challenge unveiled the completion of phase one of the Dodgers Dreamfields project at Gonzales Park in Compton to commemorate Jackie Robinson Day.
Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation earns ESPN honor
In recognition of the LADF’s ongoing work throughout the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic last year, the Dodgers were named the 2020 ESPN Sports Humanitarian Team of the Year at the annual ESPYS awards show.
