The Los Angeles Dodgers began their road trip on a 10-game losing streak, dropped a series opener to the San Francisco Giants but rebounded with back-to-back wins at AT&T Park. The Dodgers won their first series since Aug. 18-20.

What’s more, the consecutive wins are a first for them since Aug. 24-25. Yu Darvish was spotted a lead in the first inning and he went on to throw seven scoreless. The outing was Darvish’s best since striking out 10 over seven shutout innings in his Dodgers debut.

Offensively, Cody Bellinger led the charge. His line drive sailed over Hunter Pence’s head for an RBI triple to open the night’s scoring in the first inning.

Bellinger then scored on Logan Forsythe’s double to the left-center field gap. In the fifth, the Dodgers rookie slugged a two-run homer to McCovey Cove off Matt Moore.

Bellinger finished the night 2-for-4 with the three RBI and one walk, and a single and double shy of hitting for the cycle.

He became the fifth Dodgers player to hit a home run into the water, and second in the past two games. The home run was Bellinger’s 12th this season off a southpaw, which is most among all left-handed batters.

He’s now tied with Albert Pujols for most home runs in a single season hit by a National League rookie. Bellinger broke Mike Piazza’s Dodgers rookie record with his 36th home run earlier this month.
