The Los Angeles Dodgers have seemingly been active in trade talks to address all aspects of their pitching staff, with a focus on Yu Darvish and Sonny Gray, and a trio of left-handed relievers.

One of their perceived bullpen options, Justin Wilson, was packaged by the Detroit Tigers to the Chicago Cubs in a trade that was made official early Monday morning. It’s believed the Dodgers have largely zeroed in Baltimore Orioles closer Zach Britton.

Whether the Orioles will trade the southpaw, however, remains a bit of a question mark. All the while the Dodgers have been connected to Britton, Brad Hand and Wilson, a report indicated they also were exploring a potential deal for New York Mets reliever Addison Reed.

According to Alex Speier of The Boston Globe, the Mets are trading Reed to the Boston Red Sox in exchange for three pitching prospects:

Stephen Nogosek was selected by the Red Sox in the sixth round of the 2016 Draft, while Jamie Callahan was taken by the team in the second round in 2012, and Gerson Bautista signed with the Red Sox out of the Dominican Republic and has a high ceiling as a hard-thrower.

Reed is 1-2 with 19 saves, a 2.57 ERA, 3.15 FIP and 1.12 WHIP in 48 games over what’s been the best season of his career. While the right-hander would have bolstered the Dodgers’ bullpen, the team does have multiple right-handed arms.

Reed, like some others the Dodgers have been tied to, is eligible for free agency this winter.
