The Los Angeles Dodgers reinstated Brock Stewart from the 60-day disabled list on Wednesday and optioned him to Triple-A Oklahoma City. Stewart filled a vacant spot on the 40-man roster that was created when Chris Heston was claimed off waivers by the Minnesota Twins.

Stewart began the season on the 10-day DL because of right shoulder tendinitis that cut his spring short. In nothing more than a paper move, he was transferred to the 60-day DL last week when the Dodgers called up Brandon Morrow from Oklahoma City.

Stewart joined High-A Rancho Cucamonga for a rehab assignment on May 27, though failed to make it out of the first inning. He recorded just one out, and allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits.

In two rehab starts with Oklahoma City, Stewart allowed a combined two runs and six hits in five innings. He tossed three scoreless innings for OKC on Tuesday.

The shoulder tendinitis limited Stewart to just a pair of Cactus League appearances. He went 0-1, allowed seven runs on five hits, including one home run, in 3.1 innings pitched. Stewart also hit two batters, walked one, and had one strikeout.

Last season, Stewart went 2-2 with a 5.79 ERA, 5.90 FIP and 1.61 WHIP in seven games (five starts) for the Dodgers. He made his MLB debut last June, when the club was thin on available starting pitchers.

Stewart was 4-0 with a 2.49 ERA, and had 54 strikeouts over nine starts (50.2 innings) with Oklahoma City last season.
