By winning two consecutive elimination games against the San Francisco Giants, the Los Angeles Dodgers punched their ticket to the National League Championship Series for the fifth time in the last six seasons.

Awaiting them is a rematch of last year’s NLCS with the Atlanta Braves, who took three of four against the Milwaukee Brewers to advance out of the NL Division Series.

The Dodgers overcame a 3-1 deficit against the Braves last year to advance to the World Series, where they defeated the Tampa Bay Rays in six games to end their championship drought.

The Dodgers and Braves played each other six times this season, with the first series coming at Truist Park in early June. The teams most recently faced off at Dodger Stadium in the final week of August and into the start of September.

The Dodgers posted a 4-2 record against the Braves during the regular season and outscored them, 27-23. L.A. dropped two of three on the road before going on to sweep Atlanta at home.

June 4-6

The Dodgers won their first game against the Braves this year on June 4, scoring eight runs in the fifth inning of a 9-5 win.

L.A., however, would fall in the next two games at Truist Park by a margin of four runs, with Clayton Kershaw and Trevor Bauer both taking a loss.

Aug.30-Sept.1

Similar to the teams’ first series in Atlanta, the next three games between the Dodgers and Braves at Dodger Stadium were tightly contested.

The Dodgers won each of the contests by two runs, with the latter two being decided in the seventh inning or later.

Joc Pederson most notably homered off Walker Buehler in the second of the three-game set, which earned him praise from the right-hander after the game.
